BeFrank is treating 100 people working from home to breakfast

A healthy breakfast for someone who hasn’t been allowed back into the office for a year. Pension administrator BeFrank wants to show its support of people working from home in the Netherlands with the BeFrank BreakfastBox.

‘People in the Netherlands are being asked to work from home as much as possible.’ On 12 March it will be exactly one year ago that the government made this appeal during a press conference. The next day many offices remained empty. Since then the kitchen table, bedroom or attic have become the new workplace for several million Dutch people. Research has shown that it is above all young people who are having trouble with this.

Surprising employees with the BreakfastBox
BeFrank has launched the BeFrank BreakfastBox, a breakfast for employees who have been forced to work from home for a year now. Through a special campaign page, anyone can nominate a friend or colleague who predominantly works from home. ‘Let us know why this person deserves a breakfast with fresh, healthy products. The more enthusiastic the reasoning, the greater the chance that we will surprise these hard workers with a delicious breakfast’, says Jan Hein Rhebergen, Director of BeFrank.

Honouring people working from home
Up until 11 April, 25 people currently working from home will be selected every week. BeFrank will gift them a healthy breakfast box compiled by the company Buurtboer full of local, sustainably farmed, organic and artisan products – along with a nice card from BeFrank. About 100 people will receive the breakfast box in the coming weeks. ‘Our New Year’s survey showed that many people working from home miss their social contacts and would like to eat more healthily. This gift is only a small gesture, of course, but it is aligned with those goals’, says Rhebergen.

Extra stress
Working from home is stressing some Dutch people out more. A recent study conducted by Intermediair and Panel Inzicht showed that about half of people working from home are dealing with more stress. Lots of employees are seeing their energy level dwindle and feel more pessimistic than they did a year ago, on the eve of the coronavirus crisis in our country. BeFrank is a pension administrator that has been working on improving the fitness of its participants for quite a while. ‘With BeFit we try to inspire Dutch people with interesting articles about nutrition, exercise and leading a healthy lifestyle, like how to deal with work stress and other tips’, says Rhebergen. The collaboration with the Buurtboer was no accident. ‘They are committed to sustainability, just like we are. We are 100% transparent about our costs and profits and invest in businesses that act responsibly in terms of people and the environment.’
